Before you set off, grab an Ontario Road Map, it's your best guide into Cottage Country and the Haliburton Highlands. You can follow one of the directions below or plan your own route. There are many beautiful and scenic drives to Haliburton. You will enjoy the drive as much as your stay, have a safe trip.

DIRECTIONS FROM TORONTO WEST

Take Hwy 401 to Hwy 400 north toward Barrie

Exit onto Hwy 11 toward Orillia/North Bay

Exit onto Hwy 12 south toward the small town of Atherley

Turn left onto Rama Rd/County Rd 44 toward Casino Rama

Turn right onto County Rd 45, just opposite on the left you'll see Fern Resort. If you miss the turn and reach Casino Rama, you've gone too far!

This scenic drive takes you through quaint towns for approximately 53 km toward Norland

Turn left/north onto Hwy 35 in Norland toward Minden

Once more you will enjoy a beautiful country drive meandering for around 29 km to Minden. Please be patient, you may meet with some delays as the roads are under construction in the area

Minden welcomes you with Tim Hortons on the left and Kawartha Dairy on the right. Continue on for a short distance

Turn right onto County Rd 21 for 8 km (formerly 121) toward Haliburton Village

Turn right only County Rd 18/Kashagawigamog Lake Rd for just over 10 km toward Halimar

You will see the Halimar sign on the right, turn left into driveway

If you happen to miss the turn for # 18/Kashagawigamog Lake Rd, you may continue on Hwy 21 (Formerly 121) East, you'll find yourself on the north side of the lake heading toward Haliburton. Just before you reach the centre of town, make a right on County Rd 1 (near the airplane and old train), continue along for just over 1 km, make a right at County Rd 18/Kashagawigamog Lake Rd for 4 km to Halimar Resort, turn right into driveway, the sign is on your left.

DIRECTIONS FROM TORONTO EAST

Take Hwy 401 to Hwy 35/115 north toward Lindsay/Peterborough for about 18.4 km

Exit right onto Hwy 35 as it continues north toward Lindsay for 32 km, do not continue on Hwy 115 into Peterborough

Your goal is to stay on Hwy 35 until Minden, this highway turns left and right, just keep following it and enjoy the scenery

Turn left at the first lights you meet onto Hwy 7/35 for 5.3 km

Turn right at the third set of lights you meet as you carry on Hwy 35 for .5 km

Turn left at fourth set of lights as Hwy 35 continues north for just over 55 km

Take Hwy 35 north to Minden for just over 55 km

Turn right only County Rd 18/Kashagawigamog Lake Rd for just over 10 km toward Halimar

Take Water St/County Rd 29 north

Turn left onto County Rd 23 toward Buckhorn for about 20 km

County Rd 23 becomes County Rd 36 at Buckhorn, follow for just over 7 km

Turn right onto County Rd 507 toward Gooderham for about 38 km

Turn left onto County Rd 503 for 1.6 km

Turn right onto County Rd 3 for just over 16 km

Turn left onto Hwy 118 (formerly 121) into Haliburton

Turn left onto Hwy 21 at lights in Haliburton for just less that 1 km

Turn left onto County Rd 1 for just over 1 km

Turn right onto Kashagawigamog Lake Road/County Rd 18 for 4 km to Halimar Resort

You will see the Halimar Resort sign on the right, turn left into driveway

DIRECTIONS FROM TORONTO MID

Take Hwy 404 north toward Newmarket

Turn right onto Davis Drive toward Hwy 48

Turn left/north onto Hwy 48/12 toward Coboconk (note: Hwy 48 & Hwy 12 are combined for about 15 km, and then 48 veers right toward Bolsover)

Turn left/north onto Hwy 35 toward Minden for just over 11 km

Turn left onto Hwy 21 at lights in Haliburton for just less that 1 km

Turn left onto County Rd 1 for just over 1 km

Turn right onto Kashagawigamog Lake Road/County Rd 18 for 4 km to Halimar Resort

You will see the Halimar Resort sign on the left, turn right into driveway
